At Fairfield Primary, we recognise that Key Stage 2 is a crucial stage in children’s educational journey, where they build upon the strong foundation established in earlier years and develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed for their transition to secondary education.
Our Key Stage 2 curriculum is carefully designed to inspire a love of learning while equipping children with the essential skills and knowledge they need to succeed. At Fairfield Primary, we place a strong emphasis on developing children’s reading, writing, and mathematical skills, recognising these as fundamental to their future success. At the end of Key Stage 2, children undertake statutory assessments (commonly referred to as SATs) in reading, mathematics, and grammar, punctuation, and spelling, with teacher assessments in writing and science. Throughout this process, we support children to approach these challenges with confidence and a positive mindset.
