Following on from our October trip to St John's in the Vale, this week the whole school hopped on coaches and headed to Whinlatter Visitor Centre. From there, all of the children took part in a walk exploring the local area. Our children in Reception completed 'The Highway Rat' themed walk, Year 1 and 2 enjoyed a meandering path around the Noble Knott side of the area, Year 3 & 4 visited the summit of Lord's Seat and Year 5 & 6 also visited Lord's Seat but also bagged Barf fell along the way.
We were blessed with glorious weather for the day out and the children enjoyed the physical challenge but also exploring the area and learning about geography along the way.
Thanks to Mr Edwards for the organisation, the mountain leaders that were involved, all of the staff, all of the many parent volunteers and the children for being such good sports as usual.
We look forward to GDOIII in October!
