What a super time we've had sewing this week in Class 4GH! The children have designed their own bookmarks and have been encouraged to choose and use a variety of simple stitches and colours. On Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, we were joined by some very kind volunteers – we had Mums and Dads and Grans and an Auntie, who helped the children with their sewing. A few children had sewn before, but for the majority this was a new experience and a big challenge! The classroom was a hive of activity, it was great to see everyone helping each other and what concentration! It was such a lovely working atmosphere, with our calm and relaxing music in the background. The children were all thoughtful, inspired and motivated learners!
The children have shown great resilience and perseverance throughout both sessions, they have responded to little problems or mistakes in a calm and mature way. Some have adapted and changed their designs, others have made mistakes and quickly learned from them, they have all made great progress and can't wait for our next sessions.
A big thank you to all our volunteers on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, your support and help was very much appreciated by the children and staff.
