On Thursday 27th June year 5 had the opportunity to play in a community brass concert 'Class Brass'. We played alongside other local schools and Cockermouth Mechanics Band. The evening was very hot but it was great to hear all the different instruments.
We played 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' and the theme from 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' before joining with all the other players for 'Yellow Submarine'. We think we have made great progress in our playing since picking up our brass instruments for the first time ever last September and mastered these new tricky tunes very quickly! It was a phenomenal achievement and we would like to say 'thank you' to Mrs Kenyon for teaching us and organising the concert. It was such a success that Lady Egremont has offered to host next year's event at Cockermouth Castle!
