Image of Year 5 Residential - Scotland!

From 1st to 3rd July year 5 ventured north and explored Stirling for our residential visit.

We enjoyed a visit to Edinburgh Zoo and were lucky to catch the penguin parade as well as spotting koala bears napping, lions showing off and very energetic monkeys. We enjoyed a spooky tour of Stirling Old Town Jail in the evening which made us very glad to head back to our comfy youth hostel next door!

Glasgow Science Centre was a big hit the next day - we liked all the hands-on exhibits, in particular the optical illusions in the Wacky Salon and Ames Room. A boat trip on Loch Lomond was a relaxing way to spend the afternoon before a big quiz to finish off the second day.

For our final morning we visited Stirling Castle and learnt about the Stuarts before they became the royal family in England as well as Scotland. We dressed up as nobility and enjoyed sitting on thrones in the great hall. The views from the castle walls were amazing!

We had a fantastic time exploring Scotland and lots of us wanted the trip to last for longer!
