The children of Fairfield School enjoyed an amazing adventure this week. As part our our Learning Outside the Classroom programme, all children embarked upon a hike/walk, making the most of the beautiful surroundings in which we live. In addition to having an appreciation for our environment, children took up the very physical challenge of the adventures and will now bring the sights and sounds of the day back into the classroom.
Early Years children had an adventure from the school grounds. They heading along the Greenway and through the parks and looked at the beautiful autumn colours.
Year 1 & 2 impressed adults as they took on a walk from Whinlatter Visitor Centre up and over Seat How. This was a very challenging route for children who are only 5 years old but all of them took it in their stride and enjoyed the trip.
Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 headed out to Braithwaite and headed up to Barrow Door for Lunch before summiting Barrow Fell. The views from the walks were stunning.
All children, as usual, took on the challenge with great enthusiasm and their behaviour was impeccable.
Thank you to all adults involved.
