Learning more about the life of William Wordsworth

Year 5 are celebrating William Wordsworth's 250th birthday this year through a big project involving Cumbria Music Hub, the Wordsworth Trust and the Manchester Camerata orchestra.

We have already visited Dove Cottage to understand what Wordsworth's life was like and this week we have enjoyed workshops led by Carole Lewthwaite from Cumbria Development Education Centre, poet Polly Atkin and sound artist Dan Fox.

We have responded creatively to Wordsworth's poetry, used our understanding of Wordsworth's legacy to think about the sustainability of tourism in the Lake District and ventured up to Harris Park to participate in a sound walk to record what we can hear in our local area.
