On Friday evening we were invited to the Low Wood Hotel in Windermere to attend the prestigious Cumbria Sports Awards. The annual event recognises Cumbrian sporting talent each year with awards such as Rising Star, Athlete of the year and Life time achievements amongst many others.
This year, Fairfield Primary School were nominated and shortlisted for the 'Active Education' Award. I am pleased to announce that WE WON!!!!
The judging panel (which consisted people from a wide range of backgrounds in sport across Cumbria) awarded us because of the wide range of activities, the passion for outdoors and the engagement with the wider community. The speech really reminded me how much work has gone into the provision and how amazing it is. Please have a watch to hear all about it.
