It's so wonderful to be back in school after the half-term break.
In Nursery, our fabulous Friendly Frogs have started their new topic... Dinosaurs! As you can imagine, this is a very popular topic.
In Reception, the children have been learning about tally charts in Maths, making them with coloured sticks first beforehand. In DT, cooking has been in action with Reception creating vegetable soup. They learnt how to safely use different utensils, which links to our safeguarding curriculum. Naturally, they had to sample their finished dish!
In Key Stage 1, Year 1 have enjoyed Computing this week where they learnt how to use and control the mouse using engaging and creative apps. Meanwhile, in Year 2, the children have been busy identifying 2D shapes from their creative, repeated patterns- they even managed to accurately spell the shape names!
Up in Key Stage 2, Year 3 have been busy with team-building skills in PE, exploring 'under their feet' in Science and using atlases to accurately locate European countries in Geography. In Year 4, pupils have used tuning forks to learn how sounds are caused by vibrations. Meanwhile, Year 5 pupils have been investigating acids and alkalis using PH indicators and scales. They've also been actively exploring coordinates in Maths, as part of their Active Maths lesson this week. Finally, in Year 6, fungi has been the topic of discussion in Science, with children conducting yeast experiments and exploring mushrooms.
What a fantastic week; have a wonderful weekend.
