Year 1 had a very exciting day yesterday! We have been studying the story ‘Owl Babies’ in English and to enhance our understanding of the story and learn more about nocturnal animals, we were visited by Silverband Falconry! We enjoyed meeting all of the owls and birds of prey and learning all about them. We asked lots of interesting questions and all had a chance to hold a Tawny Owl! After lunch, the children enjoyed having an art session, where they used their observation skills to draw the birds up-close! To finish off the day, the whole school watched an amazing flying display! Year 1 enjoyed being part of the flying display- as an enormous Eagle Owl flew right over their heads! We have all had a magical day!
