Year 2 were very busy completing their final D&T topic in Summer 2, which involved the children designing a badge to then sew on to a bookmark.
Over the duration of the topic, the children learnt lots of important disciplinary knowledge, including:
-Sewing a running stitch with regular-sized stitches and understanding that both ends must be knotted;
-Preparing and cutting fabric;
-Using a running stitch to join two pieces of fabric together.
These skills will be further developed in Key Stage 2 in other textile related topics in our Design & Technology Curriculum.
