Our Residential: York

During the Summer Term, Year 3 have a fantastic three days in York, where they participate in 3 days worth of wonderful experiences, that supports their learning across the whole of the curriculum. 

On day 1, pupils enjoy exploring the wonderful Forbidden Corner, which is a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers and surprises spread across four acres of garden. The children have a truly magical time. During the evening at the Youth Hostel in York, pupils are challenged to participate in a range of Team Games hosted by the YHA staff. These are always fun and energetic and provide the children with opportunities to develop their team building skills. 

During day 2, children enjoy a fun-packed, rich and informative experience visiting the Jovik Centre, participating in an archaeological dig as well as exploring the city walls and learning about the history of York itself. Following this, the pupils have some well-deserved fun at the local bowling alley. 

On the final morning prior to returning to school, Year 3 visit Skipton Castle where they deepen their learning about the Tudors and Tudor Britain. 

Year 3 have a enriching experience that will support their learning and wider experiences across their junior education.
